happy bastille day everyone

The end of the school year ate my life for the end of June and the beginning of July. I am just coming up for air and can look at my June goals and begin planning for July.
My June goals:
1. Finish the Wallaby

This got done though I still have to block it!
2. Finish A's socks
ali sock
Well, one sock got done and so the first part of my 3Q challenge will be to finish these socks.
3. Make one hat for charity knitting
v hat 1
This also got done!
4. Start a going away present for P - to be finished by July 30
This did not happen and probably will not this month. I am going to roll it over to August.
5. To pick yarn and a pattern for a present for DH by June 30
I think that he and I will go yarn shopping in August and I will start this in Sept.

So, my July goals are:
1. Finish the socks for A
2. Make a charity knitting scarf -for the new gift part of my 3Q challenge - I want to make 5 scarves for my charity knitting project
3. Start a camisole for me - which is the last part of my 3Q challenge
4. Finish a special single sock gift.

May is done, welcome June

Though I have not been hanging out here much, I have been busy trying to accomplish my May goals.
So how did I do:

1. I completed my Sideways Spencer for me (and I love it!) though not by the May 15 deadline. Finishing can certainly be tedious, but worth it when it is done!

2. I completed the fuzzy socks for my Mom's birthday and they are winging their way to her. I think that they are a bit big but we will see what she thinks!

3. I have been plugging away on my 2Q challenge project - a baby wallaby and am close to the neck.

4. I have started on the socks for A that I am making for a going away present. So far they are really fun to make, but slow going.

5. Though this was not a stated goal, I got involved in some charity knitting and made 10 hats to be donated to hospitals for premature babies. These are just 2 examples.

I have to say that I feel pretty satisfied with May. So on to my June goals, which are:
1. Finish the Wallaby - June 30 - this is for the 2Q challenge
2. Finish A's socks - June 30 - this may be a stretch for me, but I am going to try!
3. Make one hat for charity knitting - June 30
4. Start a going away present for P - to be finished by July 30
5. To pick yarn and a pattern for a present for DH by June 30

Happy summertime knitting to all!

Happy May Day

It's hard to believe that it is May already!

So here's how I did on my April goals:

1. I FINALLY finished the guitar strap that I have been working on for my son. This was my first crochet project in many years and I am thrilled that it is done. It was a bit too long for him, but I figured out a way to loop it up until he grows into it.

2. I did not finish the Sideways Spencer that I was making for myself, thought I did get the knitting on the body done. So this gets rolled over to May for me to do the finishing.

3. I made a good start on the Wallaby that I am knitting for my friend's baby. I am up to the sleeves This is my Q2 big project.

4. Finally, I finished the first sock of the fuzzy socks that I am making for my Mom's birthday.

So my May list is:
1. Finish Sideways Spencer - May 15
2. Finish Mom's Fuzzy Socks - May 30
3. Get Wallaby up to the hood - May 30
4. Pick pattern and yarn for A's going away socks and get started - May 30

Happy springtime knitting all!
