Need to Carry Over to May
Hello fellow gift-alongers! Your all doing such a great job and I'm loving the pic's. Keep up the great work!!
I myself am not doing so well. I've been crocheting, but nothing from my list! Just haven't been able to concentrate on what I should be doing. So I will be carrying over my April list to May and hopefully will add to it as it was a short list. I'm still going to do my Angel Afghan though I don't think I'll make the Q2 challenge with it. Don't even have yarn for it yet, in fact I started a new blanket for Lady and ran out of yarn, thought her blanket would work also for the challenge but now awaiting the yarn to come in. Its gonna be a slightly felted blanket. (maybe it'll hold up alittle longer)
I'll try to comment on every ones items..so far everything has been beautiful and makes me want to learn to knit more, (though I'm currently in a knit-along for a cloth and going good so far). I'll catch it all up next month in May! I'm just in limbo-lost- land for concentration, guess now that Lady is doing better with the loss, it must be my turn.

FO: Malabrigo Madness Fetching
Cross posted at Sally Comes Unraveled and Year Long Gift-A-Long.
I've finally knit my first Fetching, my one and only Malabrigo March project for Ravelry. (Of course, I forgot to add the project to the thread so I could qualify for the prizes. At least I got a Christmas gift done.)
I used about half a skein of Malabrigo Worsted in Purple Mystery (I think) and US size 5 aluminum Boye dpns.
I like the pattern for the must part, although the bind off leaves something to be desired. I admit I screwed up the first time because I ended up with the wrong number of stitches at the end. (And I may have been a off stitch on the second one.) It's hard to tell the difference, so I'm not worrying about it. The main thing is that the bind off curls.

I also realized that they don't cover as much of my hand as my Knucks, which truly makes them "hand warmers" and not fingerless gloves. It's always a conundrum. You want to cover your fingers because they're cold, but its hard to do anything with your hands because your fingers are covered. I know there are convertable mittens out there, but I'm still looking for new ideas.
I like the thumb. At first I thought it was Elizabeth Zimmerman's afterthought thumb, but I looked it up, and her thumb actually involves steeking.
Instead, you knit waste yarn where you want the thumb, and then remove it and pick up the thumb.
This is what it looked like before I removed the waste yarn. I picked up the stitches ahead of time so I wouldn't have to worry about them when the waste yarn was removed:

Here it is after the waste yarn was removed, and stitched were picked up on either side of the hole:

Now I'm deciding what to do with the other half of the Malabrigo. I'm not sure I want Fetching, but I do want something for myself. Maybe Calorimetry?

April Goals!
This will be another light listed month with the hopes of adding to the list as I see what "time" I have available *big laugh - too bad I can't turn back time! - time to put away my big Cher hat now* I have to complete a portfolio entry for my job AND I still have to do my taxes *groan*
OK, so here's my list:
1. pair of baby socks - Madelyn - just because she's so cute - April 6th
2. Floral Cami - Gabriella - Birthday - April 30th
3. Entrelac scarf - friend - Christmas - April 30th
4. either Floral Cami or leg warmers - Julianna - Birthday - April 30th
My Q2 Challenge is the lace stole. It's my first lace project

Sally's April Gift List
Yeah, so March kind of sucked as far as gift knitting.
March Wrap Up:
1. Gift Item: A lace shawl. My goal this month is to make decisions. This month I want to settle on a yarn, pattern and needles, then knit a swatch and block it.
Progress: No work since this pathetic swatch.
2. Gift Item: Finish Boogie Time (2 of them) (Rollover from February)
Progress: I'm stuck. I need a watch face that works for a boy.
3. Gift Item: Socks (rollover from February)
Progress: I can now say these are Rainbow Socks for my sister, and I've only gotten this far:
4. Gift Item: Brioche Rib Scarf
Progress: Finished
5. Gift Item: Either Fetching or Foliage, whichever I'm in the mood for.
Progress: I chose Fetching, and I've gotten a little farther since I took this picture:
