This year one of my goals was to knit BIG, so here's my chosen project...........
Its Aquila by Louisa Harding, from her venezia von ulta book.. This little beauty is a Christmas gift for me I'm sad to say, reason being that the yarn has cost a small fortune and I have still to buy more. It was meant to be for sis, I struggled with the colour way but eventually decided on teal, rose pink and subtle versions of both, now I cant decide on the Glisten yarn colourway which needs to tie the both together. When the yarn arrives I will post for now I'm working on interpreting the pattern so i get off to a good start..
Here's a gift i did complete, meet Mrs Snowme.
Now I did think she looked rather Gorilla like in the arm department, and her scarf turned into a neck warmer, so was undecided whether to put her in the gift box, but friends assure me she is cute so she has now gone to Christmas box ready for a friend.
so Q2 challenge items are:
- Complete front of Aquila
- make 1 more snowme for niece
- 1 pair of socks for friend
I think ill leave it at that as I'm sure Aquila will take plenty of my time...
Happy knitting all, Angie
