First post!

Hello, fellow gifters. It's taken me almost a month to post here, not because I haven't been thinking about gifts, which I have, and not because I haven't been knitting, which I certainly have been... I think it's because I have no idea what people might want for Xmas 2008. It just feels so far away. Everyone that I knit for this recently passed Xmas demonstrated excellent recipient behavior, and so deserves more gifts, plus I really would like to present every teacher at my school (we're a small group) with a handknit gift for Xmas 2008. I just don't what what I want to make everyone. I notice that others posted below have been knitting what they feel like and plan on deciding the recipient later, and that might have to be the best plan for me as well.

So, here goes!

January List:
1. Fiesta Mittens/ for Lauren's Birthday/ due Jan. 31st FO!

2. Basic Man Socks/ Kenny's Birthday/ due Jan. 30th
3. Fetching Mitts/ Sera's birthday/ due Jan. 31st
4. Frivoli hat/ unknown child or small adult/ due Jan. 31st (WIP)
5. Cotton hand-towel/ Yoshi & Mary/ to re-stock their recently burned down apartment/ due Jan. 31st

I'm putting the due dates all at the end of Jan. to keep myself organized, plus I think Marce said to at some point. Also, all these will be knit from my stash.

I guess I'm not accepting the 1st quarter challenge yet, because I have so many things that need to be gifted this month or next month that I can't start thinking about Xmas yet. I kind of like it better this way anyway- gifts should be given spontaneously, or as a secret surprise, not necessarily on Dec. 25th. IMHO. :)

I LOVE those mittens. All the sudden I have inspiration to sign up for the colour work class at my LYS.
