Elizabeth's mid-April update

Cabled Fingerless Arm-warmers Progress update
Recipient: Anna
Occasion: Christmas
Deadline: December 2008

I started these mittens at the beginning of April. They've been on my year long gift along list since the beginning of the year and I'm finally making progress on them. I think part of what helps is that I've decided to knit them both at the same time. I'd say they're about 30 % done. I'm using the Big Braid cable from Interweave's cables stitchonary and I'm very happy with how it's going.

Just to recap my April List:

1. Gift Item: Thermal (ravelry)
Recipient: Myself
Occasion: Because I haven't knit anything for myself in awhile and thought I was due
Deadline: Finished!

2. Gift Item: Cabled Fingerless Mittens

3. Gift Item: Handbag or Purse
Recipient: Chantelle (brother's fiancée)
Occasion: Christmas
Deadline: December 25, 2008
Other info: This is the pattern I'm thinking of

4. Gift Item: Voyager Lace Stole in JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-Silk (pattern) (ravelry) by Shui Kuen Kozinski and Benne Ferrel
Recipient: Rin
Occasion: Birthday
Deadline: June 7, 2008
Other info: I've purchased the yarn and chosen a pattern. Here's the yarn:

5. Gift Item: Big ticket item! Burridge Lake Aran Afghan (Originally posted at Magknits which no longer exists. The patterns is available as a ravelry download PDF) (ravelry) by Anna Dalvi
Source: Magknits /
Recipient: Mom and Dad
Occasion: Christmas
Deadline: December 25, 2008
Other info: I was actually having trouble trying to decide what to do for my fifth project for this month. Even if it doesn't get started, I at least wanted to have five things in mind. Well, the Q2 challenge has pretty much solved that dilemma!

lol I totally didn't notice how many cables were in this post. Awesome. I'm nervous about the blanket, but that's kind of the point right?
