Two down, two to go

I finished my second project of the month - a pair of Dashing fingerless mitts. They're a holiday '08 gift for a friend. Yay! It feels great to have something already wrapped up, so to speak.

I love the idea behind the first quarterly challenge, Marce! Knitting something each month for giving later in the year will help get us all off to a great start.

It's been great seeing everyone's projects as they are posted and it is keeping me motivated. Next up for me is making a partner for a lonely sock. I've also added to my monthly goals to quilt six circles on the Double Wedding Ring quilt I've been making forever.

Double Wedding Ring Quilt

It's been marked and basted for a year and a half. I've just been too chicken to attempt the free motion quilting for fear I'll ruin it. But this is the year I'm finally going to finish it for my daughter's bedroom, even if the quilting isn't perfect. My goal is to have it on her bed on Christmas morning.

Love those mitts, great job.

I tried a few years ago to make a quilt, as long as their wasn't any curves in the sewing they turned out great. Nice lovely job on yours!

It's gorgeous. My mom quilts and usually the hardest part about the free motion arm is just getting psyched up for it!
