March FO and revisited list

Hi all... I can't believe March is almost over... I finshed the lace scarf (don't have the pattern link handy, but it's in Ravelry if you're interested).



Here's my modified March list:

Carryover: Celtic Cable bag/S bday/March 16 => DONE
Wrap Cardi /Isabel/March 22 => DONE
Thrummed Mitts/DF/March 31 (getting too warm - will add to future winter list!)
Malabrigo Lace scarf/Xmas/March 31 => DONE
Jaywalker Socks/tbd/March 31 - doubt I'll finish these, but have a couple of days left!

Secret Washcloth for Christmas 2008...FINISHED...Q1Challenge FO #1

My March list is a little late in the month but I have been very sick this past two weeks and to busy before that to post my March list. But this is what I have come up with:

Baby Sweater(Carryover from Feb)...for Grandbaby...Who arrived March 10th but I did not get to see him because of my being sick until March 14th. He is so cute!
Another Secret Washcloth for Christmas 2008...you can go to my ravelry page (shannonspurls) to see what they are.
The Bag...Brown...for Christmas 2008 gift
The Bag...Avocado & Black for my Aunt Claire
2 Crochet Hook Caddy's...for an Aunt and a Cousin...Christmas 2008...FINISHED...Q1Challenge FO #2...these were the only thing I could do while I was sick. I am not sure why but they kept me occupied. :o)
I have been peeking in everyday and love all the gifts being made. What an inspiration! Keep up the Great Work everyone.

Sasha's February wrap up and on with March!

Phew! Life ran away with me for a while there - so I haven't been posting much lately I'm afraid! February saw me finish a few items, including some impulse and unexpected goodies, and tonk along on the two seemingly ongoing-and-going-and-going projects too!

I finished the beanie I knit for Dad, based on the Thorpe pattern with a few modifications. We both LOVE it!

I'm so happy with how it turned out and Dad's thrilled to bits - yay :)

It wasn't really on my list, because I thought I'd finish his socks first, but it jumped up at me and demanded to be knit immediately, and how could I refuse? A friend's birthday came upon me quite unexpectedly so I whipped out the spinning wheel and spun up a vivid skein in pinks and purples for her.

I know it's not knitting or crochet - but I still count it as an F.O ;)

I knocked out a Squidge cloth too, to go into my Christmas stash - for one of my numerous cousins, or someone that pops in unexpectedly! I think I'll try to do one of these at least every 2 months so I have a nice little supply come December!

I'm still at the 33% mark with Gran's shawl - I really need to make the time to sit and knit it - I really enjoy knitting it when I get to it! Dad's socks are coming along well (when I don't get distracted by more flashy and exciting knits!) with the first one done and the next one up tp the heel. If I can just concentrate on them for a day or so I might get them done!

So here's my March list:

• Flower Basket Shawl - Gran - for love - ASAP
• Hiking socks - Dad - belated chrissie/love - ASAP
• String Bag - close friend Bink - Birthday - 30 March

I'm going to leave it at just those three, because I'll be working on my own projects too (Central Park Hoodie, Clapotis etc..) and knitting time can only be stretched so far! If I get some extra time I BADLY want to cast on for some soakers for another close friend's bub - but we'll see! All the best for March everyone - I must say you've all been kicking some serious arse with your knitting accomplishment! Hurrah for organised knitting! Wheeee! :)

My list sure does not seem to be changing much over the months.

1. finish sweater for my mom- better get cracking her birthday is the 30th
2. finish other mitten ( yicks winter is almost over guess they are for next year)
3. 5 wash cloths for the soldiers
4. charity blanket

I am not even going to put a fifth on the list because if I even get one of these items done I will be doing well.

Way to go everyone you knitting is BEAUTIFUL!! I love seeing all the great projects complete KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

February Update

Well, I didn't have a big list for February. I did finish my Blueberry Pie socks. They're AWESOME! :)



I also managed to finish socks for my friend Dina. Her birthday is in October, and since I managed to finish them, she'll get them for her birthday instead of Christmas. This is my 2nd 4th Quarter FO, so I guess that makes it a Q1ChallengeFO! :) The picture was taken very early this morning, around 1am, before I finished weaving in the ends, but the ends are woven in now.

I rearranged my list a bit, and now my goals for March are to finish my mom's Waving Lace socks as well as finishing the Nutkin socks I started back in November/December for test knitting. Nutkin socks will be for me - "just because" and because I'm trying to clear some of the UFOs off the needles. The Waving Lace socks will be for Mother's Day. :)
