HOLY Guacamole

I had no idea what to make my mother for mother's day & her birthday. I tried these crocheted flower pots but they didn't cut the mustard. So I'm going to try this Bespoke Pillow. I'm going to have to knit like crazy, because I'm already behind... Otherwise, I haven't been getting v far with the gifty knitting...

- 2-3 more juliet scarves for gift stash
- witch mittens for sister (these look fun)
- a to be determined baby gift. baby socks?--or Otto the Owl? (update: geez that owl is cute. Will do the owl.)
- crocheted flower pots for mom--I've started one. I don't think I'm doing it right... what-eve- (update: am going for the bespoke pillow)
- socks or shawl for Carrie. Not sure yet.--update: going for socks, bought super yarn for this.

It's bright and beautiful here in London. I'm going to get into some outdoor knitting... must burn stash and make pressies! Happy Spring! xx

Pheelya's March Update

WOW! My March list is complete - All 5 items!! I'm so excited!!

First up is SotSii Clue 3 completed! I do not recommend working with cobweb weight lace for your first ever lace project. Trust me on that! I can't tell you how many times I started over or frogged rows and tinked back stitch after stitch. And learn the value of life lines in lace! You can see that I have two still in mine currently.

SOTSii

Next up is the Stained Glass Afghan that will probably be a year long project. The blanket requires 357 squares. I am hoping to have the squares completed by November so that I can put them all together in December.
Squares for Stained Glass Afghan
Pattern: Stained Glass Afghan from Vanna's Afghan's from A to Z
Yarn: Lion Brand Chenille
Hook: size H

Lastly are my first pair of socks!! I love the yarn I used!!

100_0999
Pattern: Tidal Wave
Yarn: Sheila Rovelstad Designs Sock yarn (Ravelry link)
Needles: Addi Turbos size 2 - 12"
Modifications: I switch to a short row heel and I carried the pattern down the top of the foot.

I had posted about the Fetchings in an earlier post. Now to figure out what I'm going to do in April!

January Knits...

Okay, I somehow veered way off track from my original list. I was playing catch-up a little bit this month trying to finish up my belated Christmas presents. SOooo I am going to show off what I have finished...because I'm excited to have gotten this all done before February. I have made some progress with the gifts on my list...the scarf is 1/2 finished and the baby bog is 4 inches in! So that's encouraging!!
Here is the knitting I have gotten out of the way in order to focus more clearly on my 2008 gift making:
Two Koolhaas hats for my brother and his girlfriend
AND a pair of socks...actually these, as it turns out are for me...

A Late Start, But Still a Start ...

Yes, I realize that January is nearly over, and I am just now thinking seriously about my list, so I can post it here. I only joined up last week, and since then there have been a few adjustments. So for January, I have just one item listed:

1. Washington Redskins fan socks / my niece's husband / Christmas gift / January 31.

My plan is to knit a pair of socks for all of my nieces, nephews, and their respective spouses for Christmas gifts next year. For my nieces' husbands, who are all football fans, I decided to make socks in the colors of their favorite football teams. Since I have the yarn in my stash already for Redskins-color socks, those are first on the list ...

Of course, I still have to dig out the yarn from wherever it is, which is why I am signing off - right now!

January is for socks

Pirk's Projects for January:

1. I started these
http://www.islandofmisfitpatterns.com/2006/07/14/lacy-mock-cable-socks/
for my son's MIL, but they are not going to be finished for tomorrow.
I will have them done for a Christmas (2008) gift for her.
The yarn is solid color, Rose, by Schoeller/Shahl "Zimba Medium"

2. Crocheted/knitted angel for a friend, who has a birthday in February, but since
I have to send the angel overseas she has to be done by the end of January.
No pattern yet. I might do my own freeform creation.
